I tried two CV 3.5/21. One was pretty badly decentered, the other appeared to be centered, but it was not nearly as good as the Loxia I had — on an A7RIII. I’ve since moved onto the Sony 20mm f1.8, of which my copy is absolutely stellar (on an A7RIV) in all respects, but it lacks the sun stars of the Loxia and CV. I don’t value sun stars that much and if I’m not mistaken (not recalling now), I can get sun stars with the Sony if I stop down enough (probably f9.5-f11, I’m guessing).
Unfortunately, all these lenses have copy variance. I've seen asymmetric Loxias and Sonys as well.
To me, the main advantage of the Sony 20/1.8 G is that it's optimal across the image field starting at f/4. Both Loxia and Voigtlander need some stopping down to be optimal. The former needs f/7.1 to tame its moderate field curvature and the latter also needs f/7.1 for optimal mid-field resolution.
For landscapes at f/8 and smaller, the difference in IQ is much smaller and other aspects became more important like flare control, sunstar definition, color rendering and lateral CA correction.
Am spending the "home-ester" in some nature reserves in my Hennesy hammock, this was taken yesterday early in the AMs. As soon as a reserve is somewhat out of the way and the dirt road there might not be the best it tends to be empty of people (I 've visited some 30 these last years) which suits me just perfect, to just breathe the natural "quiet" and oxygen : )

Can't travel this year, so why not process ones from last year? This is from Natural Bridges, Utah (Sipapu Bridge). A7iii + 21/3.5. Great hiking combo!

Some really nice photos here : )
Here's an mfd one. It aten't the bestest lest for mfd shots I've found. Better place the subject of interest centrally and make sure you focus correctly. This mightn't have been the best-focused shot ever but I like the colors of my produce never the less: Bit of intermittent indoor harvest
Fidalgo roxa, Pimenta de Neyde and two Peachadew. The first kind is wonderful, I think, full of taste and just the right amount of heat.

Some more. These are from a couple of day trips south/southwest of Trondheim in late May.
The Lom stave church still has its original medieval crest with dragon heads and dates from the 12th century. The dragon heads are an architectural and cultural remnant from the pagan Viking era.

Thank you so much. Your photos with the 21 and 40mm Voigtlanders definitely pushed me to buy them. The local wildfire in New Mexico made the sunsets very intense lately. Glad I was at the top of the mountain to capture it.

I'm glad you were too!
Someone else said that to me the other day. I should be on commission perhaps......?
I was seriously thinking of selling out for the 24GM recently but I think that's passed now!!

I love this lens as it's my go to when I need wider than 24mm. Although I have been contemplating selling both the CV 21/3.5 and CV 35/1.4 for the Loxia 21mm since it can double as my WA lens as use it for astro as well. Though I hate to give up the stunner of a the CV21.

“wow”, exactly.
The 21mm f3.5 is a little gem of a lens.
If you want pocketable convenience get this little lens, if you want perfection, get a behemoth.

It's my favorite 21mm lens at the moment. I've shot with it all (Loxia, Sigma 14-24, Sony 12-24), and while the zooms outperform it at wide apertures in terms of resolution, CV 21/3.5 Color-Skopar is superb in flare resistance, distortion, color rendering and sunstar definition. The M-mount performs the same on Sony and Leica and it's my choice since I have both systems. The Loxia 21/2.8 is also a great choice but it's not as compact.
