A few quick shots with mine. Still learning how best to focus it. Seems in most cases, just focusing to the infinity stop and stopping down to f/8 or so yields excellent sharpness most everywhere, unless you're up close. Focusing to hyperfocal distance yields good center, but a bit of softness at the edges at infinity. Focused at mid-range distances, it's sharp in the focus plane even at wider apertures, to the edges, and even OK in the corners...quite nice. Love the size. I think I'm really going to enjoy shooting with this lens. There's a bit of barrel distortion, but far less than I was expecting given the tiny size. Most of the time I didn't feel the need to try to correct it. Looking at pictures I took with the Loxia 21 a few years back....I'm not sure I see much of a difference at all. In fact, at hard infinity, the CV 21 might even be a bit sharper at the infinity edges. I'm pretty impressed.

Jordan, saying: "Focusing to hyperfocal distance yields good center, but a bit of softness at the edges at infinity." are you talking about Field Curvature? Fred Miranda said it has not (or very little) but Juha Kanisto noticed some.
Also, have you ever noticed the reported "mid dip"? Compared to Loxia 21 Fred said: "The Loxia does a little better everywhere in the field but mid-field performance sets them apart." And also: "I'd say for landscapes, stopped down to f/8, they are both similar but if one looks close, the Loxia still has higher resolution and contrast. Flare resistance is a bit better as well." Is your deem similar?

There's a bit of field curvature in my testing, but it isn't so much a fully curved field of focus, because the center doesn't go softer when focusing at infinity, it just brings the corners up.
I haven't really noticed the mid dip to be honest. I compared shots I took with this to those I took in similar conditions and the Loxia images are perhaps a touch sharper, but I had more trouble with field curvature with the copy of the Loxia that I tested.

Midfield dip is there, Doesn't concern me at all, minor at best.
The lens is great fun. I do wish it was 0.5 cm smaller, my bags are small and tight, every little bit counts. The FE 35, is a bit easier to fit and noticeable with my bags.

It may be easier to fit in your bag but does not give you that sunstar! Great shot.

These are really great! And yes, lenses don't get much sexier.
I found infinity on my copy to be the sliiightest hair back from the hard stop, not sure about yours.

Thank you to all the contributors in this thread. After selling my old a900 and all the a-mount lenses, i only got an 55 f/1.8 and an a7R.
I sold my most used lens too, the Sony SAL 20 f/2.8 and regret I did. I have been looking for a replacement and had actually settled with the Loxia 21 and that I had to save for some time to get it, but then this small Voigtländer turns up and I am a bit in love.
