Just returned from an epic trip across the western US through the Tetons, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. These are my favorite landscape shots from this trip

All of them are great. I found the Grand Canyon very difficult to photograph and you did a great job.
Thank you! I agree the Grand Canyon is very hard to photograph without dramatic skies. The pictures come out very flat and the sense of scale and the depth of the different ridges are hard to convey.
Very dramatic lighting in first shot. Last one very nice too. It must have been freezing cold while waiting for that first touch of sunlight at the overlook parking lot.

Thank you, yes it was 15F and my fingers were almost numb by the end. Believe it or not, both shots of the Tetons were about 30 minutes apart.
The previous three days I was there, there was a lot of smoke, haze and overcast and it looked very very dull . I almost gave up and was heading to Yellowstone. On the way, I thought I'd take one last stab and stayed for the sunrise and this was the result.
This was what it looked like in the previous days:

Thank you Acharya, I was looking through your pictures (great pics by the way) and looks like we had the same idea (or the lack of space for another composition )
