Thanks you Karl, and well-said. That is just about how I feel about loons. Their physical appearance, behavior and voices, have endeared them to all of us who've experienced them.
As one who has never seen nor heard a loon, I can only imagine the experience you had during that encounter. Your photographs (especially #3) have allowed me a little vicarious serenity.

Thank you Faizan.
Right now, the adults have all but lost their breeding plumage. This begins happening about mid-September. I will probably post more images soon, and try to remember to include some that show that.

I seem to favor using the DR-5 right angle finder on my D850 or D500 Geoff. Maybe I should give the live view a better try again, than I have in the past.
