It has been an off year for me, lots of other things going on in life on days off so I have not been out much and Summer was hot and humid and most often uncomfortable to be out. However, now is the great times in weather and natural beauty in Ohio as the days cool off and the foliage begins to change.............my favorite time of the year.
Hadn't seen a Green Heron in a long time, today was different...........................

5, 7 and 8 for me Karl. 5 for the great vertical frame and the prey, seven and eight for the cleaner backgrounds. I found the other backgrounds to be competing a lot with the beautiful heron, although I do really like the jump with cool hairstyle in #2
Looks like a great day out in the field with this guy, hope you have the time and weather to get out more in the next little while.

Thanks for the detailed commenting Geoff. As we know the isolated clean BG's make for a great portrait, however I too fully enjoy the right environment to compliment and place the subject, this presents a bigger challenge for presentation. It's always a compromise at times but I wouldn't want to pass on those shots so I go for it LO
