My son and I spent two weeks in July in three locations in Brazil: Southern edge of Amazon, the Pantanal, and the Atlantic forest outside Rio de Janeiro. We saw more bird species in two weeks than we've seen in USA since we started keeping a list. We did not have time to pursue the jaguar (next time), but the variety of flora and fauna was incredible. Hope to go back one day!
Here are a few shots from the trip. Thanks for looking!
wow, Jim these are amazing. I remember you had mentioned when we met that you were planning a trip to Brazil this summer with your son. What a fruitful trip. the light is great and the variety is over the top. Bravo. Voted.

Wow, you did very well! I will be adding an extension to my 2019 trip and will be including the mata Atlantica!
Good decision! We enjoyed our time at REGUA and recommend it.

Thanks for taking the time to post these beautiful pictures. Brazil is on my bucket list.
I'm glad you enjoyed them. Brazil is such a big country, we only scratched the surface. Hope to get back myself one day.

Good work Jim! Only 400 species left to post pictures of.
Ha! Good call. I thought about putting all 409 in one post. Sadly, with forest birding, many were seen and NOT photographed.

This is an extra nice set with great variety Jim. I really like 1 ~ Ron
Much appreciated, Ron. Those Hyacinths were the star of the show in terms of Pantanal birds.
