I got two tripods and I hate them. Takes away all the fun with photography. Also; what's the point with small and light lenses if you're gonna use a tripod?
I do have the OM 21/3.5 which is pretty good stopped down (except for flare), but it's not small enough with the adapter. Probably the Loxia 25/2.4 would be ideal even if it's too large for some applications (MTB riding with a minimal bag).
Someone needs to buy it. I use a PD 5 also but I’m changing that out but still using the inserts. I can carry 5 small lenses now or maybe even my 24. BTW I read your ad I have the CV 21 and Sony 24 also. Diffrent beasts

They are for sure. It is a great lens. Just for me it comes down to how often am I "really" going to reach for it. At one point I use to have 40+ lenses sitting on a shelf When I leave the house my quick grab now is the 24gm and 40CV in the 5L. I go through phases with zooms. Right now in my landscape/wildlife I have the 100-400GM which is just fantastic. Planning to use the a6400 as a converter to extent that range. The rest of my landscape kit is pretty simple Laowa 15mm, 24GM, 40CV, (depending what I'm shooting I'll mix in the 110APO). I use to hoard lenses but have sold them off and consolidated over the years. I find I can visualize things better now the simpler I keep it. Not for everyone obviously (and it was more fun to hoard lenses) but it is working for me. In the perfect world Sony would make a 40mm GM. I could get by with my AF kit just being the 24 and 40. But unfortunately it is not likely to happen. And no, Batis is not an option for me
I realize this is not what this lens is for, but has anyone used this yet for a little astrophotography? Fred's original review showed great coma performance wide open. Clear limitations of speed, vignetting, angle of view, but would still be curious to know anyone's experience.

I have just tried it tonight! Results are still on the camera.
I am not the expert to ask though by any means but I was quite impressed with the exposure considering f/3.5 - I am in the city though & I was in the back garden with my boy & his new telescope.
In a German forum someone asked whether M- and E-mount version of this lens have the same optical designa like the 10,12 and 15mm or a different one like the 40mm. Did anyone already test that?
