Forgive me, I couldn't understand your post (above), I'm intrigued as to what china influencer nonsense you're referring to? I did check the quoted post but still cannot make head or tails of it. Appreciate an explanation.

Oops, you must have actually read the post the moment it was published. The word "China" slipped in accidentally because that influencer primarily focuses on Chinese lenses. I removed it immediately afterward. While it's true that he does focus on Chinese lenses, it wasn't relevant to this particular post. Otherwise, the situation is that this influencer has been doing nothing for months but writing lengthy monologues in which he presents personal assumptions, opinions, and fantasies regarding the superiority of his favorite lenses and the failure of virtually all other manufacturers as established facts, manipulatively supporting his claims with completely misleading image examples, and refusing to respond to any questions or comments unless they express agreement. If someone posts genuine side-by-side comparisons that refute his tall tales, he ignores them, waits a few posts, and then continues as if nothing had happened. Unfortunately, this is spreading to more and more threads. But now that I'm writing this, I realize that it's my own fault because I'm no longer consistently using the ignore function. I'll start doing that again immediately. That way, I'll save my nerves and won't spoil anyone else's enjoyment of the influencer's posts.

I sort of understand now, thanks for the lengthy reply, appreciated. Opinions are fine it's when facts are distorted or when those opinions are paid advertising which is sometimes difficult to diagnose.

That’s definitely a candidate for the 3D pop thread 👏

And Berlin? Where did you spot it? I’ll be back in my second home from Sunday

It sat here (Spandau) for ages, but has probably been sold by now. It's been gone for a while. In its place, there's always a bright green truck of a newer model parked around the corner.

I love snapping photos of everyday details like these while walking around the neighborhood. And for 2026, I've resolved to reach for the Nokton more often instead of the GM. It has such a beautifully understated, analog feel.🥰

Just picked up an vintage a7R for fun. 13 years old and still a lovely little thing. I had to take its portrait (with the Nokton).

The first A7R was such a nice compact camera 🙌
And the 36 mp sensor was great 👍

That's how it all started. I loved mine. But then the camera kept getting larger, the finish changed, video features got added, tons of features... I liked the A7R best. If they'd just improve the shutter vibration without changing the body...The original 55/1.8 ZA. What a great lens too. I still have mine.

Once I brought my 7R with the MD 35 2.8 to the Europa Park. Most compact, powerful (sensorside) and enjoyable fullframe 35mm combo back in the days.

(Didn’t have the money for the 35mm Zeiss pancake at this point 🤫

I still have my original A7R too, it was my first FF Sony mirrorless (after entering mirrorless with APS-C NEX-6 a year earlier). I like the size and weight of the original body and it was great for its time, but I never liked the shutter button placement and the non-BSI sensor was not optimal with many adapted rangefinder lenses, and of course the shutter vibration and lack of EFCS and ES were not great. Several aspects were improved in later cameras but recent FF bodies have been getting bulky, so now I stick with C-series.

I enjoyed the 55/1.8 too but I no longer have it.

Mine is having little blackouts until it gets a lot of use, like I seem to remember Retrofocus (?) was saying his did too. The electronics finally give out, it seems. I really like the sensor and the size is great. Not perfect by any means, but 465 grams, and easy enough to work with.

Vintage....
The A7s mk1 is still my daily driver 😎
Small, light, 100% silent, lovely to use on auto-ISO with manual prime lenses.

Enjoy your set-up, looks great albeit the big SONY logo 🫣
