I was lucky to witness a mating dance of a couple of Palamedes Swallowtail right in my front yard. A rare occasion that I was able to capture with my 7D paired with a 100-400 II.
They seemed to have lot of fun and so did I

Superb set Socrate. The third is my pick. It seems a touch darker than the others. It is hard enough to get on in flight and you got two in flight and in focus!
WHAT an incredible series! You captured this behavior terrifically, especially at such a low shooting angle. I've never seen anything like these--that's why I love this place.

Thank you, Morris. Male and female butterflies in courtship fly together almost in unison. During this dance the male flies above her releasing a stimulating hormone to convince the female to mate. Which happens regularly in the bugs world
Yes, the third one is a bit darker then the others. BTW, did you know that Butterflies use (also) their feet to smell?
