Went out with Pius and Rory yesterday in search of the Pygmy Owl....2hrs of waiting finally paid off with a visit from the little fellow....he seemed to have been drawn out of the valley by a flock of Western Tanager females with fledglings. Here are some owl shots and a few extras from the cliff side....
Excellent set of photos! It amazes me that you can go out to photograph owls, and you get excellent photographs of owls posing nicely. I go out to photograph owls, I get nothing (maybe a turkey vulture). I suppose it helps to know what you are doing.

Thanks Dave. You really just have to get lucky with where he decides to perch. The light was getting fairly harsh and from a bad angle by the time he came up out of the valley but we did our best
