I've been in the Dolomites quite a lot lately which is not so diffcult since its only a 3 hours drive from my hometown in Germany. I was quite lucky with the weather conditions since they were really dramatic. An amazing place for sure and worth visiting again and again and again. I hope you like it as well.
Wonderful light, wonderful shot, dramatic and nice processing! Congratulations! Now print it huge as a LUMACHROME HD print! Best high gloss prints in the world now.
BTW, for my taste these days (because today things are so insanely over baked on social media like Instagram and so forth) it is becoming my practice to try to tone down and show more restraint when I process crazy great light images like this. If it was mine I might be tempted to turn down the sky saturation just a hair, more so in the blues... But that is my own preference and subjective I know. The image is killer!

Hey Mark! Thanks for the idea. I already toned down the blues a bit because they really seemed quite strong to me as well. I might give it another try to see how it looks. I agree on the crazy processing happening on Instragram although I also retouch my photos a lot. Always personal taste of course.
I got another shot from this evening and I would also appreciate your thoughts on this one guys. There was a gap on the horizon which casted some really dramatic light on this landscape but only for a couple seconds.
The OP image is the strongest by far IMHO. That gorgeous light on the mountain pulles you right in where as the second new image, the strongest light is on the FG boulders and not the star of the show as shown in the OP image.
Your sky in the second image looks a little more natural though.
