Crested Cara cara in flight in S Florida this morning. A couple slightly clipped wings as the bird was really close. Images slightly cropped for composition except for the close up. CC welcomed and appreciated. Thanks.
You invited CC so I do have one request and I hope that others who shoot wildlife will add the same to their images.
Seems to me that it would be great if posters would include a few facts about the animal. There is much we do not know and we learn some new things every day.
Monday morning was almost as productive as Sunday; this time I had some great opportunities with osprey. While common in Florida, this species has struggled to thrive in the upper midwest. While our bald eagle population has really expanded throughout the last 20 years, osprey have been slower to return. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to see one feeding on a perch while I was photographing jewel weed.
This is one of many osprey images that I managed to make on Labor Day.

This guy walked by my house about 30 min ago. I "panic grabbed" my camera... didn't pay attention to the settings.. shot it at ISO 4000... YUCK... but I think I can make it work for a print. Rookie mistake!
