I've been fortunate to witness a handful of truly majestic scenes. Quite a few of them with a camera in my hand (well, tripod). This was one of them. Sometimes you just know. On this morning, there wasn't a breath of wind, the clouds were at least revealing the mountains, and the lake was still. All I had to do was make sure the lens cap was off - and press the button. Shot from a cove off Lago Nordenskjold once the first hints of light revealed itself and standing on the edge - trying not to ripple the water.
Thanks for taking a look. CC always welcome and appreciated.

I agree, a bit dark. I'm also having some problem with the foreground branch competing for my attention with the beautiful reflection. Did you happen to get any shots without that branch?

Very nice Todd. I personally think the shot is a bit too dark.
Brighten some darkest darks or just the whole image.
I'll take a look at brightening it a bit - although, this was shot in the very early hours - not a lot of light to begin with. I see what you are saying - so I'll give it a try.

Sadly, no - I ddn't get any without the branch. I was really only able to get a few with this set up. The light soon transitioned into a more traditional sunrise palette. Guess I'll just have to go back!
Lovely shot Todd. That was one glorious morning in Patagonia! Still glad I stayed behind for the pano but wow - the lagoon was a spectacular mirror! Dave

Probably the "best" morning from all 3 trips down there. Sorry you missed it - glad you are glad, though!
This is superb. I love the branch in the foreground, if there was one thing I would change about it, I would prefer that it did not intersect the mountain reflection. But that's nitpicking.
Personally, I'm perfectly fine with the brightness as it is, for a dawn scene.

Thanks very much! I hear what you are saying about the branch. By the time I figured it out the initial whispers of color had transitioned so I focused on shooting the branch with just the Torres (mountain on the right). That turned out pretty good too!

Insane how still everything is compared to when I was there. My wife and I just got hammered by the winds, it was nuts. Nice shot.
Cheers

Thanks, Chris...
This was my 3rd trip here - and by far was the calmest morning I've experienced. This inlet of the lake was like glass throughout the morning. Lots of pixels were burned!
