That is so lovely! Quite a moment, so well captured!
Thank you very much. One of the best overall moments I think I have ever captured. It is a numbers game!

What a home run, Mark.
Gorgeous - the rainbow is cool but the crack in the earth really makes this photo for me.
Jeff
Thank you so much, Jeff. I agree. A rainbow is almost a dime a dozen these days. But it is really hard to capture moments where everything lines up like this. Helps to be shooting a lot! All the best for your work!
Another fantastic capture! The light and the framing are special and the rainbow is icing on the cake! Obviously, being so familiar with both the area weather and the terrain really was a plus. I am going to have to break down at some point and sign on for one of your tours, they sound like a fantastic combo of great photo opportunities and great camaraderie and fun too.
And on an unrelated note, I think it is very special that such an accomplished photographer as yourself still stops off on other people's submissions on this board and gives some feedback. it is very much appreciated, and especially helpful for some of us who do not often get a lot of comments when we post.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate the feedback. I leave in about 20 minutes to drive across the US back to here, so it means even more to me now!
Thank you. Totally outside of my business or marketing, I simply love to help. If I was a billionaire, I would still do the same thing. When I was getting going on this stuff many years ago I always super appreciated it when photographers would give the story, the technical details about how the image was captured, and maybe even a little about their post-processing approach. It was diamonds to me when a favorite photographer of mine would do this. As an example, I remember when Marc Adamus PIONEERED localized highlight glow and the very best web sharpening technique ever devised. On another forum, he told both the story behind the image occasionally, but he was generous about sharing his techniques. Countless thousands of photographers benefitted in their own work, and now that has grown exponentially to the point where people do not even know anymore that it was him being generous about the techniques he was using/pioneering that nearly all photographers now use in their normal workflow (to more or lesser degrees). As an example, his web sharpening method, has never been improved in over 14 years, and is the basis for all the best actions or push button sharpening products out there (of course, most of the people who have developed these products never mention Marc's method) for superfine web detail.
But back to the point. Why not share about methods? Especially when many ambitious photographers are still pushing to pioneer into the advancement of them. That is one reason why I keep mentioning Photoshop Raw Smart Objects. Very few are using them, but the technology is moving forward.
I have a lot more to come btw. Robert Park of Nevada Art Printers has totally innovated some new techniques for sharpening prints that kill all previous methods used even by the best pros. I can not even believe what he has come up with! Then working with him (and being an obsessive detail tester) I have also made some small contributions. I love sharing this stuff! People are now making 7, 8, 9 foot prints that look almost like Large Format! I would never have believed that was possible.
So, things keep moving forward and I love to try to stay on the cutting edge. And mostly I love to share this stuff when it really helps someone.
Have a good trip! I will look forward to your results, and those wonderful writeups. I also have a creativelive class of yours that I bought and am working through that has provided some nice insights so far too
A wonderful image Mark

Your photographs and processing technical info have me ready to pull the trigger and jump back on board with Lightroom/Photoshop again. I currently use C1P with PSCS6 and Affinty Photo and can "McGyver" a 32-bit workflow but not anywhere as seamlessly or robustly as with Adobe's offering with Smart Objects.
Looking forward to reading about the new sharpening techniques.
