This is Cloud Gate, more commonly known as "The Bean". The result of a competition, this 110-ton sculpture in Millenium Park is made up of 168 stainless steel panels that were welded together and highly polished to have no visible seams. Inspired by liquid mercury, the surface reflects a distorted wide-angle view of its surroundings.
