Last year was an amazing year of Monsoon rainbows and wild light for nearly everyone. One person here on the Landscape Forum (you know who you are!) helped one of the others when their camera and tripod fell off an edge on our very first shoot on the first morning! They repurchased the person's gear! This person (who lost their gear) had just gone through multiple massive losses in their life. It was so touching to see how everyone helped each other the whole trip. I will never forget it. I can not help but to get excited for this year in the great Southwest!

Technicals for the techy:
Here I was teaching people to take the camera OFF the tripod and literally scour the area (for hours) for endless compositions using the ultrawide lenses and mainly the LCD but the viewfinder too (when you can not see the LCD well) for "test shots." Then when you find something you feel is very special to put a pebble (or pebbles) down where you found the composition. Indeed you have to previsualize some good light. Then later in the evening or the next morning (golden hour) trying to figure out how the light lines up with those different places and angels of your favorite compositions. Then when the great light happens, sometimes you have to RUN to them! One person (from this forum - the same person described above) once brought 3 cameras and 3-4 tripods and had them all clicking away at the same time! I would say that is photo glutton.

Thank you! It was ridiculous!!!! And we got out just in time before a massive Monsoon dump! Even the day before we chased the weather and got the attached link photo. I have to be a weather geek to get the goods for my people!

Thank you very much for your encouragement! I really do like to help when I can. I have been getting so many messages and emails from people telling me it has been helpful, so I will continue.
(I loved your video tutorial on Sharpening for fine print!! I use your techniques on all my print now!! I have not got hang of using Blend-If very accurately effectively yet..still working on it....)
