I'm searching and searching and going through my camera menus trying to setup slot #1 to record RAW's and slot 2 to record .jpg's. I have looked for 2 hours and can't find what menu it's under. WTF I'm making my self so flustered trying to find it. Please can someone tell me what menu it's under before I bust a vessel in my head?

This will record JPEG to the memory card in the memory card slot that you select in [Select Rec. Media], and record RAW to the other memory card.
Well thats not intuitive at all.
Kramerica147 I thank you so very much. OMG man, this dove me to have a few adult beverages... I really appreciate it. That is still not a very intuitive menu. Nikon shows: Slot 1 Raw, Slot 2 jpeg. That simple. I love my Sony's but c-mon Sony!!!

Happy to help brother! Nothing wrong with a few adult beverages now and then .
Agreed that the Sony menus could use some work. Surprising how un-intuitive they are given Sony's software experience in general. Rather than searching for the same settings over and over I've just added key items to the custom menu. Between that and number of customize-able buttons, you can have access to most everything without dealing with the mess of a menu system.

I called Sony support to figure it out. Took the guy escalating it to his boss in order for him to figure it out, haha. Unbelievable. It's not like Olympus and Fuji had great systems but I could at least set that up without any issues. Incidentally it's easier on the 7R3, iirc.

I do enjoy using my A7R3 very much, but the set-up was a pain until I found Mark Galer’s youtube videos and a few others. Took me 5x as long to set up the camera as my Canon’s and since it’s got an overwhelming number of options I’m still discovering things all the time.

I am getting used to the custom settings and the custom buttons. I'm just trying to get both my A7R iii and A9 setup the same way. Trial and error. Sony is so innovative and fresh but Sony does some strange things. This silly hotshoe is atrocious causing all the flashes to have to have plastic feet. I shake my head at that on a constant basis. I know it's off topic and probably talked about a million times, It's just something that has made me keep my Nikons around.

I have broken one, which would not have happened had it been metal. It was a third party flash, so not expensive, but now it is a radio only off camera flash, since the hot shoe connection is destroyed. Be careful!
Huh, you can put a flash in the hot shoe... who’d have thunk it!? 😜
