Great job for what was apparently a very limited effort. Another light on your hair would be useful for separation. I do like the low key style of this so I’m thinking just a little would make a big difference.
Agree with the comment above about using a second light (or even a reflector) to try to get some separation of your hair from the background. The hotspots on your nose and lips could easily be fixed with the clone tool or spot healing.
Thanks for posting. I'm really enjoying all your images so far.
Nicely done, with the previous comments considered. My preference would be a crop of the bottom just below the hair or a lot farther down. As it is now, it calls attention to what you are wearing/not wearing.
Beautiful self-portrait. Excellent skin tones and a nice, warm overall feel. I like the way you brought out the red of your hair, but, I feel the reds combined with the darker tones are a bit too strong at the bottom of the image. I like the way your head is angled to the right showing off your perfectly shaped nose. One suggestion: raise the camera just a tad so you lift your chin just slightly. It might bring out the jaw lines and chin, lift the shadows on your neck, and cause you to open your eyes a bit more. Terrific slight smile and very well groomed eyebrows. Keep up the good work!
