I was thinking... It would be really great if Fred (or someone quite as much skilled) would make a comparison of the Tammy with very good primes, similar to the one that Fred Miranda made for the Sony 24-105 (https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1498758/0), this time @ 28, 35, 50 and 70-75 mm.
Alternatively, a comparison with the Sony 24-105 would indirectly work as such and also would be interesting by itself.
I've been hoping for something like this since the lens first came out. No such luck as of yet.

Soooo I know I have been touting how great the thing is on here, but I'm letting it go for now. Up on Buy and Sell. Great copy if anyone wants to grab it.
Reason for selling is the rendering at 75 mm, and I might be switching back to Nikon.

What don't you like about the rendering?
Busy backgrounds at long distances, I'm finding I'm shooting stopped down frequently. Skin tone and "pop" I don't like either. I have to edit it heavily to get it to were I want. I can get there, but it's taking me longer than I think it should. Also considering switching to Nikon, I miss their bodies and lenses.

Sorry if this has been covered to death, but what is the maximum frame rate of this on the A9? I got a chance to test it in a shop in Japan months ago when it was first released and it seemed much slower than 20 or even 15.

Oddly enough, I had this combo as a rental this past weekend. While I didn't pay much attention to exactly what the rate was, it sure seemed like it was pegging 20fps to me. I only used it for a few minutes Sunday together (I got the A9 to use with my zoom and the Tamron to use on my R3 for an event that weekend), but in the span of a couple of minutes shot over 300 images of my cat on High. Based on what I was seeing (and hearing) in High with the Sony zoom, I'm pretty certain it was running at the full 20fps.

I have had no luck finding the Tamron online save for the brief time that Adorama had some recently. So I took Jordan's advice to call some dealers. Started off with Midwest Photo and HR on the first call. They had several in the morning and still had one left in the afternoon. Salesman checked to confirm stock and it's on its way over to me. The lenses are probably trickling in to dealers as they are on allocation. I was hoping to find a dealer that received some but had not yet updated their online inventory and I got lucky. Thanks Jman!

Thanks for the samples!
I decided to get one and so far I'm impressed with it. First copy and very well centered.
It's super sharp in the center at some FLs (compares well with my best primes) and corners look good at f/8. Could be a great landscape zoom. Bokeh balls are rounded and clean.

Glad it worked for you. So Midwest Photo had them? You should have told them I sent you....they know me in there. (they're local to me, so I go in every few weeks and have spent way too much there over the years.)
