he's got available samples to download, and I've gotta say, it's looking pretty good. Both samples at 28 and 75 both wide open, look good. Fairly sharp for wide open edges. A tad sharper stopped down, and I think this lens will end my cz 35-70......

His copy seems very poorly centered, at least at 28mm.
There's a couple of shots of that building you have posted where the right hand side looks substantially worse than the left. At 75mm it appears much more uniform.

you're probably right about that. I looked at both Art posters and they both seemed fairly sharp, and that's pretty good, but upon closer inspection, the roofs are different, left is sharper.
The design of the lens likely needs to be super precise. I think that something designed like that, even IBIS would effect the sharpness, handheld shooting is probably not a good idea to test it out.
The level of sharpness that the lens can produce looks very promising.

After the last preorder exeprience and another order with Greentoe, i decided not to use them especially for preorders. Weeks went on without updates on the status and no email response from GT. Basically had to contact the seller directly without any help from GT.
On another order, i found out it was out-of-stock after not getting shipped email from the seller for 3-4 days, i emailed GT and found out it was backordered. So after 2-3 weeks. I emailed the seller directly and it got shipped the next day.
I have used GT succesfully without any headaches in the past but the recent orders through them was not so great.

TELE Better (a bit) than Sony GM except at f/2.8 ■Similar to Sony 24-105 at all f/numbers
CORNER
WIDE Better than Sony GM except at f/2.8 ■ Similar to Sony 24-105 at all f/numbers
50mm Better (a bit) than Sony GM at all f/numbers ■ Better than Sony 24-105 at all f/numbers

Got a call that my lens has arrived at Map Camera. They only start selling those on release day though so need to wait until 24th for pick-up. Looking forward to it

Local shop posted today that Tamron notified them they’ll get 3 this week. It’ll cost me sales tax, but finally broke down and told them I’ll take one. Far as I know they have 2 more they should receive in the next day or too, If any one is interested, PM me for info.

I recently posted a comparative of sharpness of the Tamron vs. Sony 24-70 2.8 GM / 24.105 4.0 / 85 1.8 based on Amateur Photographer Tests (see post above). Using the data provided Krich13 posted on a Dpreview forum a replotting of all the resolution charts for wide, middle, and tele end grouping the lenses together.

I'm no expert, but those numbers don't look particularly good to me. Center looks very good on the wide end, but corners are nothing impressive, especially toward the tele end. Or am I reading them wrong?

Tamron looks stronger than the 24-105 at most equal apertures, and sometimes better sometimes worse than the GM..... gives it a hell of a run. If you think it's a weak lens, then the GM and 24-105 are also weak lenses, stick with primes.
