Focus speed is very quick , eye autofocus works well too. I will post a couple of photos shortly. Not the best photos , couldn't really take it anywhere , and it was already dark out. Anyway it's very light , and focus was nice and quick. Photos look better on my iMac than they do in the forum. I was shooting raw , is using adobe's camera matching neutral profile.

I have pre-order on this lens and today got notification from shop that it will be shipped today and will be delivered tomorrow, with tracking number etc.
Must be some mistake on their side. But, just in case, I will hope it is true!

It’s not much bigger than the Sony 24-70 F4 , I can go tomorrow during the day and try to get better photos . If you want me to do something specific just ask and I will try my best .

JustShootMe, please can you post the full size samples ?
I have pre-ordered it and won’t get a chance to try it until it’s released. Trying to decide if I keep my order. (That has a big consequence because it will trigger a bigger purchase ... A7Riii . Keep moving back and forth for the switch to FF A7x. Currently have a a A6500 + 1670 + FE85 + 24F18 + Sigma 100-400)

Samples look great. Glad to see this lens looks to live up to the hype. Tough to choose between this lens and a pair of smaller, faster primes though. I'll stick with my 28+55 for now, and maybe pick up a used Tamron after a while.

indeed, I'm getting this lens, and have the 28, and 50 as opposed to 55. They're both inexpensive enough to keep around for when I do gimbal video or want a single lightweight option.
28 could be on the chopping block, but definitely not 50.

I'm sold! That German review did it
75mm is pretty darn weak at the edges, weakest of the bunch.... however, 28 is arguably sharpest out of the bunch.
I gotta wonder how it'll sharp up if stopped down, I'm sure it's fine for portraits, and the wide should be good for landscapes considering it's that sharp wide open.
arguably the best bokeh as well, that extra 5 seems to help a bit.

Not talking about IQ, but I cannot sale my 24-70 GM for this since wide end at 28mm is a deal breaker to me. I cannot bring one lens only for travel that starts at 28. I probably get 24-105 for traveling as single lens/camera solution.

Those new samples are pretty incredible, really can't wait for it now.
I'm glad there are some reviews being posted for this lens.
However, the reviewer tested ONE copy of each lens (Tamrom and GM) and therefore it's still soon to make generalizations on how they compare optically. If one of the zoom lenses being compared has a slight element tilt (which is normal for a zoom), result crops may not be accurate and reflect how the lens really performs, especially for the corner areas.
So far, it looks great and I can't wait to test my copy.
