I've spent a number of storms at Cape Disappointment on the Washington coast and so far this image stands out the most to me. This is such a fun spot to head to when the weather turns to pure garbage as the waves more than make up for the weather. This is a bit detour from my usual shooting style (wide and slow) so this scene was a blast to shoot for hours on end. Shot on Sony A7r2 and Sony FE 70-300G. Enjoy!

Spectacular!
Is where you photograph from safe from waves / spray?
Mostly yes, and rarely no. There was a huge surge last month that brought lots of huge logs over the seawall and into the parking lot which injured a few photographers and caused the area to be closed down during that storm. I showed up a half hour late or I would have been right in the center of that mess. Other than that, there is plenty of space to hang out and just watch the waves all day long. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you all for the comments, I'm glad this image went over well. The waves are looking good again this weekend so I may be out there again to see if I can beat it
