Same setup except Loxia 85 which is bigger than the ZM. Too bad you did not have it on your Euro trip. I absolutely love this small bag. For me and people may laugh. But it’s the one reason I take my gear now. I do this stuff daily and last thing I want walking the streets and such is gear. This helps me enjoy photography outside doing paid work. It may sound kind of funny to some but nobody wants to work on there off hours right. Same here
I was just getting ready to send my CV15 I bought used a few weeks ago from B&H out to Grimes to have the petals removed. I did the FM test and some other shots prior to sending it out Tuesday and glad the top left corner is so soft the lens could be considered defective I cannot keep it the way it is.
I wanted to be able to use the Breakthrough Photography filters on it particularly the GND's and I see that instead of $600 the Nisi filer kit for my 12-24G is only $170 from B&H and works with my 150x100mm glass I already have. I was going to spend that much to have the petals removed.
My 12-24G is sharper more flexible and now I can use the filters I already have so one less lens to worry about.
Probably going to put my 24-105G on Ebay also and returned a used but mint RX1R II in anticapation of either the Zeiss or a RX1R III
Waiting for my CV 110 and anxixously awaiting the 135 GM announcment as well.
I am glad I tested the CV15 no wonder B&H had a used one.

It's interesting that I've tested perfectly centered CV 15/4.5 III lenses that also had the corner "smear". So, being centered is not the only thing we need to worry about this lens...I'm not sure what causes the smear but it could be a consequence of incorrect spacing between elements.
I got the sling-5L and love it. Fits my CV 15, Lox 25, CV 40 and ZM 85 without hesitation and space to spare!
I just stopped in my local camera store to check out this bag. I don't know how you guys are fitting all of this in there - with the body? Are you removing the dividers?
Resurrecting an old thread just incase new owners of the CV 15mm want to use circular filters.
Delivered this morning and within 10 minutes I was cutting off the hood petals off and screwed on a 58-67mm step-up ring to hide the cut, can't see a thing, perfect, now I can use my 82mm filters 😁

That's how I have my CV 15/4.5 III. It has the hood cut off and I use a 58-67mm step up ring. I've got the M version and it works exactly the same on the Sony or Leica body.

I did not see a way to remove the hood. So I cut it off. . Little trick here since I’ve done this twice. First protect the glass use 2 58mm filter rings or even glass in them. That way if you slip you hit the rings not the glass. Second make a line where you want to cut with gaffers tape, not duct tape good gaffers tape . Than take hose clamp. The kind you tighten with a screw driver right on the cut line over the gaffers tape. Now you have a perfect guide to follow with your Dremel. Use a cut blade type attachment , go slow and follow the clamp. If you go to deep it’s okay your just hitting the protective filter rings. Than you can hand file it down or use a sandpaper grit attachment on the Dremel and file it down a little. Than I put a step up ring from 58 mm to 62 or 67. I think if I remember correctly you can use two filters at 67mm without vignetting or use a Lee system. It’s not hard just takes some patience...Show more →
Now that I'll be using my CV 15 more w/my A7C, I finally made my own choppy. Guy's tips worked great for me. I used gaffer tape to cover the glass, inside ring, threads and entire outside and used the hose clamp as the dremel cutting wheel guide. Placed the lens on a soft piece of foam on it's side and cut the petals off. Left the tape on and gave it a quick spray of satin black.

I know this is a very old thread but still with great info. But re reading it restored my love for the CV 15 and bought a fourth one coming next week. I really like super wides and almost bought the 12mm which would have been nice as 12 full frame and 18 mm APSC with my A7CR but going 15mm and 22mm is not bad either given I have the 24-50. I really just need 2 lenses for my travel kit as when I get a gig I rent the A7RV and whatever else I need
I think I will go ahead and cut the petals off as looks like you can take the hood off and cut it easier. I think I still have the step up rings and such. I will use a 58-67 step up which will match my 24-50 67mm filter thread . I still love manual focus lenses and all the tech im still old school in some ways

I've really enjoying using "choppy 3" on my A7cR, so much performance in a small package. I'm guessing you'll feel the same.
Sure the EVF isn't the best, but I'm generally focusing at infinity when using it, and even when I'm not I haven't had issues, and I didn't grow up with manual focus lenses.
I really like mine still too. Such a little gem of a lens. I also have the Tamron 17-28/2.8 which is more practical for only being slightly larger. But the CV15 is so fun to use and nice to have as a more minimal option (also sunstars!). I brought mine on a trip last month and got some great images. Went with the CV15, 35GM, and 70-180mm.
I keep thinking why the hell I sold mine. Not sure what I was thinking but I do buy and sell a lot to try new gear and maybe sometimes that's a mistake. It keeps me engaged though
Well bottom line I could not get the decorator label off easily without bending it so I went back to cutting it Guys way this is number 4 and this time I did a nice job.
First put two 58 filters on that you can throw way after as you will beat them up. Reason is it protects the front glass and keeps you from hitting the front thread area Than I tape with gaffers tape where I want to cut the line around the hood than fit a hose clamp made of metal right on that line. That way you now have a solid cut against the clamp that's straight . Proceed to cut the petals off than use a sanding tool in your Dremel and just clean up your cut. Than I filled in the cut with black sharpie as that's all I had handy which is fine as you won't see that anymore. I put a 58-67 step up ring and an extra blank 67 blank filter as you can actually use two filters and you also gain a hood type protection . Before all this I ran to Big Bronco and ran a test and looks to be another Choppy version so got a keeper
