Happy New Year All!
I've been traveling around both, Utah and Arizona, recently shooting all national parks I could find along the way. I've visited Bryce and Arches National Parks as well as the Monument Valley, looking for shots with some snow. Nope, there was very little snow even now in January. Some areas of Utah had no snow at all, even at high altitudes, a bit disturbing. Anyway, here are 5 of my new findings from both states. I'm sure most of you can recognize where they were taken at....
Thank you All. The last image was taken on an overcast midday time........ no colors. But I wanted to have Monument Valley captured from this locations.
PLEASE, don't answer that question. Let us leave a few areas for those who explore. Much of the surrounding area is already getting destroyed by trail bikes and ATVs.
that first photo is from the badlands of Utah, which has been an ATV site for at least 40-50 years, way before any photographers started to go into this area. I remember trying to catch the wild horses in this area with my uncle and dad back in this place in the early 80's on horseback. Its been in many Moto, mountain bike, and other off road vehicle movies, but this specific spot is not where they typically go, as its not as easy to get back up in there from the main road, and you can't from this specific overlook If you've ever been to Capital Reef then this shouldn't be that hard to find.
The light on the first one is superb! Jealous. Waiting for my kids to grow a bit so we can go to distant places more again (wouldn't dare more than 2 hour drive now). Monument Valley is my favorite spot on the planet (last time I was there, there were 3 lightning storms happening at the same time - one on the right, one on the left, one behind us). But clearly there are places I have not been...
