Hello all,
Ill start off by saying that my mum absolutely hates to be photographed so this image took a bit of planning.
On a recent visit, I waited until she had her back to me, held up the camera and judged roughly where her eye would be and called on her to turn around. When she spotted the camera I had about two seconds of her smiling before being told not to take a photo
This image was captured on the 5D Mk IV and 85mm 1.2L II and edited in lightroom and photoshop. Shot @ 1.2
Aw, so glad you got a shot of her! I know how she feels, but it's so important that our kids have photos of us. I'm sure she will see how beautiful it is.
Thank you all very much for your lovely comments.
She dislikes cameras very much as she feels they highlight her age, wrinkles etc... I could edit them out and soften her skin but then, it wouldn't really be her in the image.
But still, she is 55 and in my opinion, doesn't look her age quite yet so I have no idea why she worries as much.
She takes a wonderful picture and you did a fine job capturing it. We're all so self-critical about our appearance, we avoid have pictures taken of us, never considering that others, viewing the result, are far more approving.
