I feel that the best bird flight photos include terane as the background. This one is a great example of that. A lot of people burst when photographing birds in flight. I prefer to bounce my finger with the rhythm of the wings so that I can get wings up and wings down. This can save the number of images you need to sort through when you get home as well as card space and battery life.

Looks sharp. I just "motor" with birds in flight. I love the sorting process. I think a friend of ours is the ultimate in motoring!
Have a nice Xmas, and don't eat toooooo much turkey.

Nice light angle on this guy Morris! If it was mine I would get rid of the dark grass stalk intersecting the bird from below. I'll admit to being a little jealous of the opportunity!

Beautiful work Morris and I appreciate reading of your technique. I definitely agree with you about the inclusion of the terrain and the water behind it in this one is especially complimentary I think.

Did you consider cloning out the two seedheads toward the rear of the owl? I think it might add value to the image, but I can also appreciate they add a little balance compositionally.

Either way, it's a gorgeous shot!
