Awesome shots Juan. The only sloths I got to see in CR were at the rehab center. I know the wild sloths have that green stuff on their fur (where as the captive ones didn't). Do you know what the green stuff is? Is it just some sort of algae?

Thanks for your comment Geoff, yes indeed, the most common algea living on slothīs fur is Trichophilus welckeri, (among others) apparently only found on sloths so it suggest a true co-evolutionary relationship and itīs acquired by the sloth at very early stages of its life.
