Made my annual trek up the Virgin River a few weeks ago. Can never get tired of the place - familiar - but always a bit different. The goal on this trek was to capture some of the Zion glow, perhaps some Cottonwoods - and possibly a few reflection shots. Never thought I would be able to combine all three! This was shot after a long and exhausting day walking up and down the river chasing the glow. As I was hiking back, I happened to look back and saw this. Primarily one shot - I did use a few other exposures to help in blending out the 2 dozen or so other hikers that were passing by. Thanks for taking a look - CC are welcome as always.
Wow Todd. When trudging/wading back against the oncoming mobs it always pays to keep in mind what's behind you. (And it looks so tranquil!!) Nicely done!

Superb. Wonderful arrangement of elements, awesome reflections and beautiful mix of colors. Minor suggestion: the blues/cyans are a bit strong in the rocks below the tree so I might look at pulling them down a bit. Other than that, this is a winner.

Great composition and light - love the low position you took on this!
Thanks Mike - I did try several elevations - I thought this provided the best balance.

Beautiful photo Todd, I love that hike too! Never seen the river that glassy looking, but I like it.
Brad - thanks - this was (at least) my 6th time up here and this was the highest I've seen the water. I think that is what created this section of calm - hadn't seen it in previous trips.

Dave - thanks very much - I appreciate the feedback and will take a look at toning down that section.
