p.1 #1 · My fall fashion shoot with my senior ambassadors
Truly, I use the word "fashion shoot" pretty loosely as some people believe that fashion has to be shot a certain way, and I don't subscribe to that. This year, I have 13 senior ambassadors, and they got styled for two sets of clothing at local high-end boutiques, and then got a prom dress and two homecoming dresses from a high-end dress store in our area. It's a hugely popular session, possibly the main reason my ambassadors pay for this program.

Quite a nice set! If you are looking for some C&C:
(2) & (4) - move the model away from the wall like you did in (7) to lessen impact of background and distracting shadows
(5) & (11) - background seam too noticeable, easily fixed in PP. For (5), the dress being all one color and texture, her left arm needs to be either hidden or away from her body. As is, makes her look very thick in the midsection
(8) - the 2 girls sitting seems really awkward - especially since you cannot see the stool. Gives them the illusion of floating.

Thanks, Greg! It's intentional that those girls are against the wall and the shadows are intentional. Not distracting to me or my clients. Appreciate your comments. Ron

only one guy? That second photo I find intense....maybe because her eyes are so dilated...I really wanted to see more of her blue eyes.....
Thanks, Herb! I was shooting wide open, so I had the lights off in the studio. Have to think that through as I agree don't want the eyes so dilated. Thanks for the feedback. I've got plenty of other shots that really feature her blue eyes, just really like this edgy look, too.

Gotcha... it is just the ones you shot with the model at the farther distance from the wall look *much* better IMO
I would definitely address the background and floor to give a cleaner appearance, especially where the white is bunching up where it meets the ground on the left (guy pic)

They're completely different looks. The one against the wall has a strip softbox as the main light with a second light adding a very light fill. The one off the wall has this huge 6-foot parabolic softbox and then two stripboxes as edge light and lighting the background. I was going through a sequence of shots that included the shot against the wall, and the shot off the wall.
It's only natural that one shot is going to better to you, and for someone else it's another shot. Thanks for your feedback.

Yup, totally get that and agree. My main feedback was concerning the bunched up white sheet lower left of the guy shot. An easy fix in PP... all in all a great set that I am sure they will treasure!

that last photo with the blue gown is awesome. The rest are ok. I like the group shot a lot. My only add would be to try and get more room between the subject and the backdrop. I know thats tricky depending on what you're working with though.

Shine a flashlight in the face to constrict the pupils before the shot.
Nice work -- I'm sure that the subjects and their families were very pleased.
