Personally for my own stuff I went straight from alu light stands to rollers, but that's just because my experience with assisting on sets where I was asked to move a heavily loaded C stand definitely finished to convince me that I'm just weak.

That being said, you wrote that it will be used outside. Maybe on uneven ground ? In which case a going for something with a levelling leg might be a good idea ?
