These photos--and these women--are so beautiful. They are doing work many of us would find distasteful and demeaning, but they are doing so with smiles and brightly colored clothes. These are the kind of women we should seek to emulate--not those forever complaining about their lot in life.

Vicki,
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. In Goa at least this work is not considered demeaning. It doesn’t pay well nor is it the kind of work that the new generation looks forward to. But for these folks, this work has run in their families for generations. Their kids are probably on Facebook and unlikely to continue in this line of work. Your larger point, however, is well taken.
Really fine compositions Rajan! Just tack sharp, so colorful and the facial expressions so personal. I assume the women are planting rice? A really messy job but so satisfying.
Well done indeed!
Dan
