Mountain river water. Icy. The purest and most delicious.
It's funny to watch people's reactions when they see me greedily drinking from the river...
When I leave, I always fill my bottles. The Khibiny Mountains.

But what can I do? A wonderful lens with a beautiful image takes beautiful photos, even in the wrong hands.
I've begun to notice that it controls me, my mood.
Just put it on the camera, and the viewfinder shows a completely different picture, different from what my eyes see. Everything changes: the color, the volume, a completely different perception of reality... It's hard to explain. But it's an unforgettable feeling.
I'm grateful to everyone who shared their work in this thread, because it was because of you that I made my choice. The right choice.
I'm one step away from buying a 75/1.5
I won't trade my 40/1.2 for a 35/1.2
I'll have a wonderful travel kit: Voigtlander 21/1.4 - 40/1.2 - 75/1.5
Magical lenses for any task.

No! I just don't have much time these days to take pictures. I have a 1920's themed work event next week where I am taking my CV40. Who knows what will happen

Same, but I find when I do go out for any photography this is the only lens on my sony.

I don't own the CV 40/1.2 but I do follow this thread with great interest and I always enjoy your images. I owned the 40 at one point but didn't give it a fair shot so I'm looking at picking up another after the New Year.

So what are the opinions on purple and green fringing from those who have been using this lens for a while? Avoidable? Tolerable? Correctable? Does the otherwise good performance compensate for the fact that it's an issue? In short, are you happy with the lens overall?
Fringing is hard sometimes, but only wideopen I guess...
Can`t say as I am only hobbyst, but this is my favourite lens of all time. I sold it some years ago, than later bought 50/1.2, but finally I returned to 40/1.2 but in SE version. It`s just wonderful walkaround small treasure and effects are really unique, as we can all see in this thread.
Ordered it on Tuesday, it arrived Thursday and I took it out on its maiden voyage Friday evening. These are SOOC, no editing, etc. Images from the Pueblo rail yard museum, Neon Alley (in town) and the Pueblo River Walk.
