What a lovely set! I think everyone is still waiting for that 75/1.5
Thanks! They announced it in February but didn't reveal when it will be available. Hopefully this summer they will release it officially...
And it looks pretty awesome. It's the lens I've waited for years (as long as there has been the VM version).
It's incredible how versatile and good this lens is. I've been pondering which 50mm lens to complement my excellent 35mm 1.7 Ultron. But none of the Leica or Voigtländer models really appealed to me. And now I've got a flawless 40mm 1.2 from a dealer at a fantastic price – including tax and the original lens hood.
A dream of a lens.
It has a beautiful look, and unlike the 50mm 1.2, the focus ring is absolutely buttery smooth. The 50mm required too much force – a bit too tight.
Does anyone know if a Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/4 or Cinebloom 10% will fit under the lens hood? My Leica M can only do base ISO 200.

It's hard to believe that Cosina discontinued a lens that produces such amazing pictures. At least the E-mount version is still in production.
The killed the 40 1.2? I didn't realize that- Its still on Nikon Z mount as well as far as I know-

The availability of the 40mm 1.2 in Z mount while it's being discontinued in M mount is just another sign of the inevitable decline of CV lenses for the M system in favor of Nikon Z.
Just joking of course. Readers of certain 50 APO threads might get it
Is it possible Voigtlander makes a run of a lens and then discontinues it when its gone?
I struggle to understand how Voigt makes any money having to make so many different lenses and designs. From a manufacturing perspective, it has to be so hard to keep up. When they released the 28 1.5, it has 4 different versions for M mount alone.
They keep making so many niche lenses, maybe they are about to focus on a few core products?

Time will tell
They discontinued all the f/1.2 Nokton lenses, not just the 40mm. My guess is that they might release new versions for the 35mm, 40mm, and 50mm Nokton lenses soon but it's hard to predict what Cosina will do next.

Is that for Nikon as well? I just heard Nikon got rid of the 35/50 APO's-
Also Fred if you haven't yet- The Z6iii and native Z mount Voigts/using M lenses with a coded adapter is pretty damn sweet.
Eye Tracking with MF is something that is pretty special to use with a really fast lens.

Eye tracking with manual focus is the one thing I hope Sony does soon. Maybe even via firmware update. I would love it with my 35/1.2 and 50/1.2 Noktons.
Lately, Voigtlander lens strategy has left me completely scratching my head.
They started releasing their lenses for Nikon Z in their classic style only to discontinue the APOs within two years. They finally released new E mount lenses, but used a new lens design style, now they are discontinuing a bunch of M lenses. Hopefully they have some type of long term plan for their lens lineup, because they do make awesome lenses.

As much as I would like to see this happening, I really doubt Sony would ever think of adding any useful feature for those MF lenses' users. I guess they are only interested in AF and FPS these days.
