I dont understand one thing. They are about to release new smaller version of techart adapter.
If they can make such small af adapter, why nobody cant make small fast lens?
Like this adapter + cv 40mm 1.2 lens kinda combo size?
All 1.4 or faster lens are so huge?

The CV40 at f/1.2 doesn't have the best performance honestly in terms of sharpness, LoCa and other aspects. Yes you'd have a small lens that would perform, but is it the performance you'd want? If you compare the CV40 vs. the monster-sized Sigma 40/1.4 you can see the difference. The Sigma is a near-APO design and the CV40 is a character lens.
The smallest 40mm AF lens is probably a CV40 with TechArt adapter, like you described though!
These are all great photos, anybody have both the 40 and the 50 1.2's? Probably not too many. I think I am gonna get the 50 and from what I hear it has a similar look to it.

I'm also curious about other's experience with both the 40 and 50. I've really loved the 40, but I picked up the 35GM for times when good AF is a must. With the 35 and 40 being so close in focal length, I've thought about getting the CV50 instead.

Would lack of 1/8000s on Sony A7c be a problem with our 40mm 1.2?
Like in sunny days? Or even bright ones?
You might have to do some exposure compensation here and there, or shoot at a different f stop.
I'm taking my CV40 to the South of France tomorrow (in addition to the 100-400GM). I'm very excited to use it there.
