Would be very intriguing if it covers full frame.
Based on what we have seen from them lately, what would really pique my interest is a 50 that is an improvement optically from the Mitakon that also happens to be smaller in size.
Fred, Philip has given the quote above and also in a thread posted by me today. There is a 40/1.2 review in Cameraquest magazine (downloadable from that link). In that review, David Kilpatrick says,
“40mm is not the fastest, as Voigtlander already has designs to put a 0.95 into the FE system”

GAHHHH. It's like 40 degrees in Philadelphia, for some reason. JEALOUS!!
We've had all kinds of ups and downs over the last month. Weather for the most part has been perfect for my tastes (70 and sunny) but not warm enough for pool time. We went from some sporadic storms to what will be mid 90s tomorrow.
You know these little crumbsnatchers though. They will jump into the pool so long as it is just a hair shy of hypothermic conditions.

Patiently waiting for mine and I was curious. Does Lightroom have a lens profile for the 40F 1.2?
Apparently there is. I do most of my processing in C1 and haven't been applying the profile when in LR since it isn't automatic with my version of the lens.

I did a feature request to C1. The more people ask about a lens profile the bigger the chance we get one.
Here my request (they have logged this with their product management dept. At least this was the their reply.):
Feature Request: Lens support for more native E-Mount lenses
The high quality of C1 does not help much without proper lens profiles. Please add new lenses or make it possible to create own profiles.
Sony: still missing the 90/2.8 Macro
Voigtländer: Voigtländer Heliar 12/5.6, Nokton 40/1.2, Apo-Lanthar 65/2 Macro, Apo-Lanthar 110/2.5 Macro (will be released soon), Skopar 21/3.4 (will be released soon)
Tamron: 28-75/2.8 (will be released soon)
Sigma Art: 14/1.8, 20/1.4, 24/1.4, 35/1.4, 50/1.4, 70/2.8 Macro, 85/1.4, 105/1.4, 135/.18 (all will be released soon)
maybe have a look at Venus Optics too (especially the Laowa 15/2 seems to habe a big user community).

Is a C1 Profile better than the Manufacturer Profile?
When I import files from the E-Mount Nokton into C1 a Manufacturer Profile becomes activated. Switching to the Generic Profile I can see what corrections are being applied.
Depending on the Lens Compensation settings in the camera (I have the 7RIII), chromatic abberation, vignetting and distortion will be activated and corrected. CA and distortion can then be disabled in C1. However, vignetting seems to be calculated into the RAW file, you can only disable it by turning it off in the camera.

You can test it with a lens that has a C1-profile. Just switch between manufacturer profile and lens profile. The more vignetting, colorcast, fringing, defraction, ... a lens has the more obvious the difference is in my opinion.
Vignetting and colorcast can be corrected with LCC profiles for each f-stop.
Is there a consensus as to any deficiencies of using an adapted m-mount version? I’m also curious to use it on the GFX but would take stellar performance on one camera over mediocre on two.

There were several pages on that topic in this thread about a month back.

Basically the negatives would be more pronounced field curvature, lack of EXIF transmission and no de-clicking for video work. The positives are: smaller/lighter lens, TAP compatibility and lower price.
The FC increase is apparent at infinity but also noticeable in images shot at large apertures where depending on the scene, both foreground subject and background corner would appear sharp.

Might be a bit to dig into the previous pages but it was definitely discussed extensively and might be worth a look when you have some free time.
@Fred Miranda pretty much sums it up in a nutshell.
Personally, I haven't seen that anyone has actually done a true comparison of the two versions with regard to differences in the amount of FC, other aberrations and/or general optical performance.
About the only thing you could do at this point is skim through the thread at the images users have produced with both, respectively, and determine whether the look of each meets your needs. I believe there are at least three of us that have posted images with the M mount version.
