I had an amazing experience, and first encounter with this incredibly cryptic species in the nightjar family. as they decided to make a migratory stop to Trinidad in August 2017. I received notification by a friend of mine birder/photographer as to the location of the birds. They blend in so well with their preferred habitat, burnt out agricultural fields, and they feel so comfortable with their camo- I was able to get quite close without them being bothered. I hope you enjoy the images.
The Power of Camouflage. It should not be too difficult to see because of the plane of focus.

Wow, what a great set of images (of a bird that I have never seen before)! Images 3, 4, and 5 for me. Boy, they do have big eyes! Thanks for sharing these - what a treat to view them.
