These little underwater cameras work pretty well...I was using an oly tg-4 underwater, my d500 with 16-80 for the above water shots. Yes they were that close!
The person filming for a local tv station had a big rig, with a 1dx and a couple of wide angle lenses in a huge case, several gopros with gimbals, etc and a very cool drone. Another passenger had a very high end sony video camera in another big case. Impressive stuff, but we were happy with our little oly cameras for stills and videos.
