I’m So Excited to show you a Tiny One Inch Bird in Flight
Hi PhotoFriends,
Ummm…. not actually a one inch bird but a beautiful 1-½ inch Moth in flight!
I am so delighted to share with you all here that I had the most wonderful opportunity to expand my shooting practice on something HALF the size of the ruby-throated hummingbird.
The hummingbird is about three inches in size.
The hummingbird moth is only about 1-½ inches in size, which is around the size of a bumblebee.
It took lots of determination and patience for me to capture these fast super tiny little moths.
Most of the time their backs are facing you surrounded with too much clutter of flowers to really view their beauty, as they sip on the flowers.
So I am tickled I get to share my new captures as I jump for utter joy
These are way more of a challenge for me now to capture these moths than the hummingbirds.

Awesome captures, I've been lucky enough to catch a shot here and there of these beautiful moths, but this is outstanding. What kind of flower are they feeding from? I'll have to plant some in my garden to lure them in the future. Thanks!

Very nice BB! I've a lot of Admiral butterflies around my mums, but no hummingbird moths. My little Hummingbird came back this week...yippee! I thought for sure she'd gone south for the winter, now if my black and blue salvia would set forth some new blossoms quickly! I'll try to get some pictures up later today.
