Awesome images and that's my honest opinion! While I love the entire set but the first one is my favorite. Hang on, the backlit chick in number 6 is my preference. Wait, number 8 as the the two tern chicks found refuge under mom's wings gets my vote..... Well, you get the drift - marvelously captured!

Good eye! Very well rendered - love the selective focussing, low profile, and soft/creamy backgrounds.

Outstanding series, Faizon. Too hard to pick favorites, numerous excellent shots, all very pleasing to the eye.
question regarding your post-processing, do you blur foregrounds on several of these (like 1, 3, etc)?
Jim
Thanks Jim... much appreciated.
Regarding your question about the two images. Foreground was not modified. Just to explain it a bit
#3: This was shot very close to the beach and there you get the uneven sand and tire tracks of the patrolling vehicles. Also, brooding shorebirds tend to create a hole in sand. You only see one chick in the picture but there are two underneath the parent. I stayed a respectable distance away from the birds and the foreground is from that uneven sand
#1: For this one I intentionally get lower to bring some sand in between me and the subject... here is a picture without that sand and you can see the difference it makes

So many great shots in one post it's hard to comment on everything that deserves it. I think my favorite of the bunch (hard to pick a favorite) is the oystercatcher feeding a crab to its chicks.
