Had a pretty good morning at the osprey nest a week ago, the chicks were bouncing up and down testing their wings. After a couple of hours they hadn't fledged yet and the light was getting very harsh so we left. I'm sure we missed the first flights of the chicks. But here's a few of the shots I got while there.

I see there are 3 chicks just like our nest in Oceanside. Excelent quality Louie

Thanks very much Morris. It's been my experience with watching ospreys is that they typically have three chicks and it's not unusual for one of the chicks to get bullied out of the nest early on with only two left to continue on. Fortunately this nest produced all three chicks right up to fledging time, just wish I could have been there when they first flew off.
Excellent set Louie! The first is a great flight shot with the slant of the bird, the wing's position, and the nice BG. All the rest are right up there with it.
