Received my Laowa 15mm lens today from B&H. I had put it on preorder just a few days ago so I guess that anyone that was on preorder will receive one. I will hopefully get a chance to test it out this weekend. I really like the feel of it on the A7r2. The small size and light weight for a 15mm f/2 lens is very impressive and the fact that it will take regular 72mm filters is great.

I think this lens does not get enough love despite being one of the most interesting, versatile and also original FE lenses that have been released so far.
So I thought I share some of the shots I recently took with this lens.
Some are also in the [email protected], but not all, so here we go:
Taken at minimum focus distance @f/2 close to my garage on my way to work Drops by Bastian.K

Love the second backlit image @BastianK@!
Very unique perspective you can only get with an ultra wide at very close distance.
Thanks @Fred Miranda@!
Funny thing is: except for the 5th shot none of these would have been possible like this with any other lens (4th maybe with the Sigma 14mm 1.8).

I never thought Alhambra beer was famous outside Spain... one of my favourites that we make here locally (tha 1925 edition)

The shot was taken on Ibiza, which should be Spain ;-)
It was the most beautiful bottle we managed to find (short of way more expensive stuff) :-)

Indeed it is... yes, the beers are expensive. the Alhambra 1925 is the special edition of the normal Alhambra, it tastes better and has a better presentation, for a price... other brands have also their special editions now here in Spain...

Cool shots Bastian. I got mine a few days ago but haven't been able to take it out of its shrink-wrap. The three included filters seem to be a nice touch, hope there isn't too much color casting with the ND1000. Have never used a 10-stop ND filter before. Should be fun! Hope to shoot with it a bit starting late next week.

@BastianK,
Can you confirm this for me? I know the official lens specifications lists a 9-blade aperture, I can only count 7 on my lens (seven straight blades). I also get a 14-point sunstar which indicates 7 blades instead of 9.

FWIW I was told 7 when I asked them ages ago to put in 10.
I might actually prefer 7 to 9 for a lens like this. !4 points is nice than 18 IMHO.
EDIT the Germans are all asleep now I expect, but looking at Bastian's review his copy has 7 blades and14 point stars...

Thanks for confirming this David. I actually like the 7 'straight' blades for a 14-point sunstar.
Laowa should update this info on their official site because all retail stores copy the specs from them,

I still think they should upgrade to 10 straight blades and after that update the specs on their homepage
