Thanks. I got loads of these, but it was interesting to note how many I had to toss because of the razor-thin DOF of the 500 f/4, (the birds were close). Plus, often the light was on the low side, and they are moving, so I was often shooting wide open. It's sometimes hard to find that balance.
I think your ruddy duck image (first one) is the best I've seen
