p.1 #1 · If you like hummingbirds... :)

Costa Rica has 52 species of hummingbirds, I have taken pictures of most of them, it sounds easy but it�s not!
Despite the size of this tiny Central American country, having access to some remote locations and some species is never an easy task.

I wish to share these species today. Some of them taken using only ambient light, some of them using my multi flash set up.

Black-crested Coquette, among the most beautiful of our hummingbirds!

Coppery-headed Emerald, a Costa Rica endemic.

Crowned Woodnymph, yes! I also like small-in-the-frame!

Charming Hummingbird.

Probably one of the most common in Costa Rica, handsome nevertheless. Green-crowned Briiliant.

Green Violetear, another common one.

Female Green-breasted Mango.

Juan, #1 is a winner, very beautiful.
Nice variety but some are overpowered and look on the flat side, to much flash.
3 and 6 also very nice.

Just fantastic images Juan! I thought I was watching the PBS Series on Hummingbirds. Yes Costa Rica is probably the finest and most varied place to find these wonderful creatures....and butterflies also.....

Can't imagine who does not like hummingbirds , especially as we'll done as these. The first is amazing , such a colorful bird with those feather patters.

I really like the wider view . Beautiful set Juan. I do hope I can see one like the first

this is a gorgeous set of humming bird and humming bird images Juan. I like that you avoided the temptation to over crop as well as the super compositions and colors
