p.1 #1 · Oshiro 60mm f/2.8 2:1 LD UNC Manual Ultra-Macro Lens

Recently bought one of these amazingly cheap completely manual lenses from Amazon Uk (£107) canon fit. Seems to be extremely similar to the Laowa 60mm lens which costs around £350. Build quality seems fine although it does have a rubber focus ring grip and the focus/magnification feels slightly sticky. Optically the lens seems to work fine. I used the canon version on my sony A6000 with adapter. I found the easiest way to use it for natural light shooting was to put the camera into manual mode set the aperture and shutter speed, put the ISO to auto but watch what the ISO values were.

Anyway the shots looked pretty good to me and as such the lens seems amazing value for the money.

Looks identical/very simular to the laowa/venus. The original price seems about the same so you made an awsome deal. That in combination with the A6000 is a killer combo both in term of IQ and price i would say.

Great pics all of them !

Brian,

You were so chuffed with the lens that you forgot to introduce your new friends! Nice selection.

It looks good. I found that the rubber rings on my Tamrons eventually became slack after a great deal of use. Repairs are feasible.

Some more shots with the lens- all natural light. Some have been focus stacked using zerene.

Brian,

You convinced me. I ordered one this morning.

The step up from 1:2 on my 4/3 50mm f2 up to 2:1 will give me more flexibility and manual focus is what I mostly use. I even have an adapter, purchased in error, for m4/3. I couldn't justify the Laowa one but this was too good to miss.

Thanks for the recommendation.

(I have just been told that my Laowa 7.5mm and 12mm are on their way).

Harold, I'm beginning to think you collect lenses

Only those which I think will be of practical use and usually of a better performance that the preceding ones. I don't put them on display.

The final gap, with m4/3, was the supper wide-angle capability of my 35mm film lenses, is now filled.
