I went to the nest today in gloomy conditions. Started raining and the eaglets tried to tuck under mom but they are a little big for full umbrella coverage. Never saw any feedings before the rains came and drove me back to my car.
Just curious about your site - is this a nest well known to pretty much everyone in town, or one that is a bit harder to get to that you have found through your wanders? I am always a bit amused at some of the big US wildlife sites and the hordes of photographers on limited photo spots. Much harder to find hordes with your interests up in YT...
BTW loved the perspective shot on your last post - we rarely see the site in bird shots, and this wonderfully shows the birds and their landscape.

Thanks for the comments.
Yes this nest is fairly well known but it is out of town (about 20min drive) and then a 20 min walk/hike along the river bank to get to it. When I go early I rarely see anyone. Yesterday as I was walking back to my car a group of 4 were hiking the trail (at least one with a camera in hand). So up here there really aren't crowds....I could only imagine if this nest was near a bigger city....would not be good.
Even the nest we had right in town (unoccupied this year) and just a 15min walk around the airport perimeter fencing was usually void of photographers and when I would sit up there for 3 hours at a time I'd just see the occasional runner or dog walker pass by and stop for a minute to see the nest. A few times last year there were 3-4 other photographers but not often. Everyone knew about that nest.
Lovely- but you must be getting soft. We depend on your toughness when getting pictures.
I sat there last year in June and 'tested' clothing claims of 'waterproofing'. Most failed.
The pictures, as usual, are fantastic.

Absolutely stunning pictures, Geoff! Especially #1, #2 and #5. Even with the low light, you have managed to capture some nice feather detail.
Given the bad light, why did you choose f/10? for DOF? Also, are these cropped much or close to full size?
