I tested my new 28 /1.4 for the first time. A very interesting combination of viewing angle, f/1.4 and drawing. I am very satisfied so far. A worthy addition to my 105 /1,4 and 58 /1,4

Yes I also like to play with it in 1.2 crop mode as an approximate 35mm.
For my own use cases I haven’t yet made the move to FF mirrorless and when I eventually do these three lenses will make the transition with me.

Of course, having access to a seemingly unlimited supply of beautiful Russian women is a must
Normally I’d completely agree with you but Alexander also makes scooters look good! Beautiful processing! I love that his portraits are tasteful too.

I will be happy to switch to a mirrorless camera if Nikon can offer lenses on the Z system no worse than my kit 28 /1,4 -58 /1,4 -105/1,4. Unfortunately, there are no such yet.
p.s. The natural beauty of Russian girls is the main recipe for my photos. Simple portraits of beautiful people are my slogan in photography.
Just got this lens despite loving the 24-70mm f/2.8E VR! I still use my 24-70mm a lot, but I’m loving this 28mm f/1.4E! Much better luck finding an incredibly sharp copy of the 28mm vs my experience with the 24-70mm VR. I had to look at or buy 4 copies of the 24-70mm f/2.8E VR before finding one copy that is sharp corner to corner at f/2.8! I only knew that it was possible to find sharp wide-open copies because a friend and colleague also managed to get or find an incredibly sharp 24-70mm VR. So there is certainly sample variation issues with the 24-70mm f/2.8E VR. Which is sad considering it’s the professional grade staple lens.
The first copy of the 24-70mm I looked at was used mint or like new condition and not sharp at all in the mid frames to corners at f/2.8-f/4…only sharp in the center. The lens appeared to be de-centered more so than just a bad sample, as in he (seller) may have bumped or dropped it! The next two copies I turned down or returned were sharp and acceptable at f/2.8 in the center to mid frames but were not sharp corner to corner wide open…only once stopped down to f/4! Finally I decided to take a friends advice and try mpb.com and sure enough they shipped me basically a brand new 24-70mm f/2.8E VR with high serial number and more recent dark gray writing or lettering on the backside instead of the classic white.
My 70-200FL also has the newer Z-mount dark gray markings on the bottom side, but it too was bought recently, guess Nikon changed this around early 2020? There is also apparently sample variation with the 70-200FL, but I’ve had two copies and both were extremely sharp perfect copies so I’ve not seen it myself. However Nikon never screws up the f/1.4 primes, they are always made well and sharp..made in Japan! You can’t beat the Nikon 28mm f/1.4E! It’s incredibly sharp and on the D850/Z7/Z9 it’s phenomenal! I’m glad I bought the 28mm f/1.4E and even though I may not keep it, I’ll always sing it’s praises. Unfortunately I’m a photojournalist and I need the versatility and AF speed of my 24-70mm and my 24-70mm is so sharp it actually rivals the 28mm at f/2.8 vs. the 28mm at f/1.4 but not once you stop the 28mm prime down. The 28mm f/1.4E is super sharp wide open but gets spooky cut your eyes sharp once you hit f/2-2.8! It leaves my 24-70mm in the dust anywhere near f/2.8 lol! So it has its place and it’s an incredible lens. Probably the best wide angle lens I’ve ever used except for the Nikon 13mm f/5.6 which is a different beast but also amazing optical engineering! The 28mm f/1.4E sort of is a sleeper lens, came out late, not many bought it, but it’s incredible and more would buy it or would have bought it if they’d known. I’m glad to have experienced using it, even if I don’t keep it. Nice shots everyone and I’ll work on getting my own sample images up soon! Thanks!
