Well it looks and sounds like you guys had a blast, good for you. Doesn't get much better than being out with good friends doing what you enjoy. I call all of you guys super dedicated by the looks of your results and shooting postures.
Thank you Ron, finally some interesting pictures from your Florida instructional photo tour for Mitesh and Geoff.
A few observations:
(1) Having your long lenses camo-ed explains the proximity you have achieved with them birds.
(2) However, captive and pet birds can be easily shot with point & shoot setups such as Mitesh demonstrates.
(3) Low perspective is OK, everyone does it, however, in general, IF shot opportunities are missed while rolling in the mud. Lastly, there are some obvious safety concerns of doing that in Florida marshes.
(4) Geoff's demeanor of deference in the shot with Arthur Morris reminds me of a very similar look Donald Trump had while in the audience with the Pope the other day. I can hear Morris say to Geoff: "Boy, let me draw you a picture of how you are supposed to hold your camera/lens".
Thanx all for lookin' and commentin'. We did obviously have a great time. For those who have requested an invite next time, (either in this post of via PM), 3 seems to be the magic number. With all the photo gear and personal stuff, plus a cooler and a case of water, there's just not enough room in the car. And it starts to get crowded shootin' at times with just three and limited subjects... But who knows, if we do go back, one of us may not be available.
Karl - don't know if we will do it again, or where we will go, but keep an eye out - we could wind up in your territory.
Now I know what it means to be committed. Mitesh I have no idea how you keep your equipment in such good shape considering where it goes ! Looks like a great place to shoot, someone else had mentioned the Corkscrew was a good place to shoot as well. I'm hoping to get down there in December, hopefully by then I'll hear of some great places to get pictures.
Nice to see you guys having so much fun, matter of fact nice to actually see the names connected to the people who get such great shots, and how they go about doing it.
I'm almost afraid to get down in the grass here with all the ticks we have.
His E-M1.2 and PRO series lenses can take a dunking i.e. he can literally wash off the dirt on his camera and lens under a running tap!
