These are dress rehearsal shots. I get to choose where I sit, so I sit as far away from the stage as I can get while still staying relatively stage-level. I want to use the long end of my 70-200mm lens as much as possible but I don't want to be shooting down on the dancers so it's a bit of a compromise. So I am sitting directly center to the stage probably around the 10th row or so.

Your skillful planning explains #8 with it's gorgeous eye level presentation. A stunning shot and it's neat to learn a bit of the magic behind the camera.
