p.1 #1 · Couple goes off-script, image not what I was planning
How's that for a title? So I'm doing an e-session with this really fun and affectionate couple. I"m trying to think of a way to get a ring shot and I have her hand on this wood beam, and they just start doing what they've been doing the whole session: laughing, kissing, getting affectionate. As they're doing this in the some gorgeous backlight that I've placed them in, I realize how much I love what they're doing, and I start photographing them, deciding to keep the focus on her ring.
I decide to keep her hand and ring blown out a bit so the attention goes straight to them in this fun, romantic look. I'm pretty happy with this shot with all its imperfections.
This is why, for me, being in the moment is so important.

The attention goes to them and their oh so natural posing, but then we notice the hand and ring are more in focus and our attention goes there too. It tells the story of why they are so happy, I suppose. Nice job, Ron.

I like it! It works for me. Life is imperfect, our photos should be too lest they begin to feel sterile. This one offers nothing that needs apologies. (IMHO).

I think the emotion in the photo is great. But it looks like it's just out of focus because the glare makes it very difficult to make out any detail in the ring.
