I may, or may not, have previously posted an old version of this when I first captured it; I can't remember. I recently took another pass at the processing though and this is the result. Captured last April in Patagonia

Particularly like the way you've handled the massive tonal differences between the sky and foreground. Nice.
Thanks. That was certainly the hardest part of processing the scene. The D810 has the latitude to do it all in one exposure but I opted to blend two exposures for this to make the final output a bit cleaner.

Congrats on a super capture! Was this morning or evening? Dave
Thanks all! This was sunset. At sunrise you get face-light on Fitz Roy which certainly would have made the dynamic range more even, although the sky would likely not have been this intense.
This is a nice image, but I'm a little troubled by the differences between the reflection and their source. The clouds appear to be moving in the sky, but are stationary in the still water.
Congratulations on the image of the week recognition!

Agreed.... lovely image but the cloud reflections don't match those in the sky....

Wow,
I can't believe I missed that. Thanks for the spot. The clouds in the sky are not moving (well, the motion is not captured anyway) as the sky exposure was taken at 1/40s however what has occurred is that I accidentally included a frame from a minute earlier in the exposure blend stack and that frame was used for the lake. Should be a pretty straightforward fix
